1955 Chevy 2-Door Post
Rarely does the opportunity come to break in a car, but this 55 Chevy needed this service. A customer of ours found this car stuck in storage for 20 years near Cookeville, Tennessee and purchased it quickly. The car had been restored and customized back in the late 70s. It must have been used primarily as a show car because the odometer showed less than 500 miles on the digital gauges since the rebuild. The new owner was able to get the car running and tuned in. He installed new wheels and tires and had the front end aligned for the first time. When the car was brought here it needed a transmission mount and electrical problems sorted out. After a complete going over, the "HOT 55" was ready for the road. The particulars of the Chevy are 350 CI with four Ingelis down draft two-barrel carburetors, a Doug Nash 5-speed manual tranny, and a quick-change rear end. Oh Ya! This car can smoke 'em! The owner was nice enough to want us to drive it for the summer to break it in and to show the car.
