1971 Olds Cutlass

This 71 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible came to us from Pikeville, Kentucky from its original owner and the car was his first high school cruiser. There were a few known adjustments to be made and some re-chroming to be done. The owner then wanted us to put on lift and check underneath, This car was restored 20 years ago and we figured it was in good shape. To our surprise it appears just the top half of convertible was restored and frame was not touched. And maybe covered up some with under coating for when we put on lift much of the under coating was falling off. The frame had rust holes through the sides. We located another frame and had to restore it. At this time we rebuilt front suspension and rear suspension. Motor received a few new goods and some jet hot coated exhaust manifolds so they would not rust anymore. The floor has one bad spot that was found after frame was removed. The frame was joined back to body along with all new body mounts. Then the floor will be repaired. Then car will be finished up. 60% of the cars we work on do not make it to web site. This was going to be one of them until it turned into a much larger job than anticipated. Now the Olds will be fine for many more years and will be passed down to the owner’s niece. Finished pictures will be posted.

The Oldsmobile is now complete and is good for another 30 plus years. The owner opted for new tires that were larger than stock sizes and this gives the car an excellent stance with its upgraded suspension. Ready to go to car shows.
